London was the most hectic city we visited. Cars, people and motor scooters were everywhere. And be careful which way you look when you step into the street. Almost got creamed a couple of times because I looked to the left instead of the right.
But traffic aside, London is filled with sights. From
Buckingham Palace to the London Eye, there is no shortage of places to visit and things to see. And the old myth about English cooking doesn't ring true anymore.
We took a hop on, hop off bus tour in order to acquaint ourselves with the city. It was a good way to see some of the tourist sights we would not have specifically visited and a good way to get around London without having to take a taxi or the Tube.
Another tour we enjoyed was the trip to
Windsor Castle, Bath and Stonehenge. Windsor Castle is really magnificent. Unfortunately Windsor, like many other places we visited throughout Europe, does not allow photographs to be taken inside the castle. Bath was pretty and interesting but not too terribly exciting. Stonehenge, on the other hand, was magical.
Another day trip we took was to
Framlingham Castle. It is ancestral home of another branch of Max's family. It is also where Mary gathered her forces before marching on London and seizing the throne.
