Our journey began in Edinburg, Scotland and ended in Rome, Italy. In between, we visited London, Heidelberg, Prague, Graz, Venice, Lake Como, Florence and a little medieval village in Tuscany called Anghiari.

Our main mode of travel was, for the most part, the rail system. It was really a nice way to go from one destination to the next and see a bit of the countryside. We did rent a car in Scotland (we took a week to travel around Scotland before heading for London) and again in Anghiari. But this was because we knew we were not going to be in any big cities and there were day trips we wanted to make that just seemed to be done best by car.

The experiences we had are too numerous to mention and a lot of them were "you had to be there" type moments. But from flatting out a rear tire within an hour of picking up the car in Scotland to watching the Parliamentary crisis in Italy unfold thirty feet from our hotel's doorstep, we had the time of our lives.
