How can one put into words what it is like to travel in Europe for two months? A few key words and phrases come to mind. Amazing. Once in a lifetime trip. Exciting.
Our journey began in Edinburg, Scotland and ended in Rome, Italy. In between, we visited London, Heidelberg, Prague, Graz, Venice, Lake Como, Florence and a little medieval village in Tuscany called Anghiari.
Our main mode of travel was, for the most part, the rail system. It was really a nice way to go from one destination to the next and see a bit of the countryside. We did rent a car in Scotland (we took a week to travel around Scotland before heading for London) and again in Anghiari. But this was because we knew we were not going to be in any big cities and there were day trips we wanted to make that just seemed to be done best by car.
