From Lake Como we travelled by train to the city of Florence. Noted for its artistic and architectural heritage, Florence has been home to some of the most famous artists and sculptors in history. Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Botticelli and Donatello are just a few of the greats that have called Florence home. Florence is also well known as one of the fashion capitals of the world.
Two of the most well-known sites in Florence are the
Basilica de Santa Maria del Flore, more commonly known as the Duomo, and the Uffizi Gallery, home to paintings by da Vinci, Botticelli, Raphael and Michelangelo.
